Davao City – The Ministry of Health recently conducted the Annual Learning, Collaborating, and Adapting (CLA) Session and Planning Workshop for the Adolescent Health and Development Program (AHDP) last December 9-12, 2024, which aimed to enhance the quality and impact of youth health services in the region.

Representatives from various organizations, including the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), International Organization for Migrants (IOM), Society of Adolescent Medicine of the Philippines, Inc (SAMPI), and other key ministries and commissions under the Bangsamoro Government, as well as provincial coordinators and city-level AHDP implementers were present to contribute their valuable insights.

The CLA Session and Planning Workshop provided a platform for participants to evaluate and review the current state of adolescent health and development programming in region. They shared best practices, identified gaps and challenges, and discussed strategies to improve the quality of services. The workshop also focused on developing adaptive measures to scale up AHDP implementation and ensure its sustainability.

In a video message, Minister of Health Dr. Kadil M. Sinolinding, Jr. highlighted the importance of the AHDP, stating, “The efforts of the AHDP are not just about health, but they are both empowering the young people to thrive and succeed in all areas of their lives.”
