MOH Celebrates 100 Days of Progress Under Minister Sinolinding

Davao City, August 19, 2024 – Cognizant of high expectations from the public, the Minister of Health Dr. Kadil M. Sinolinding, Jr. has mapped out accomplishments, plans and policies to help realize his administration’s bid to give the people a “better” life in a “healthier and more prosperous” Bangsamoro land.

In his first 100 days in office, Sinolinding emphasized the challenges faced by the Ministry and the collective efforts to overcome them. ” Last May 6th, I was entrusted to take over the leadership of the Ministry of Health.

With deep passion and strong enthusiasm, I heeded the call to be of greater service once again for the health of my beloved Bangsamoro. Today, I have officially stepped into my first major milestone —my first 100 days and I am here today to report to you that we have accomplished so far and share with you the challenges that welcomed us and our ways of navigating through them.” he stated.

He detailed key accomplishments in his first 100 days, including administrative restructuring, health workforce augmentation, expanded medical assistance, improved health infrastructure of hospitals, Rural Health Units, and Barangay Health Stations totaling to 1.8 billion pesos, and strengthened partnerships with both Government and Non-Government Organizations.

The Ministry has made a huge improvement in healthcare accessibility and delivery across the region. Over 2,600 health workers have been hired and deployed, and the Bangsamoro Medical Scholarship Program to various renowned Universities in Mindanao has been launched to train future healthcare professionals.

Medical assistance programs have been expanded even reaching the remotest area of the region, and infrastructure projects, such as new health facilities and ambulances have been fast-tracked.

Sinolinding expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Ahod Balawag Ebrahim, the Ministry staff, development partners, and the people of Bangsamoro for their support. He reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to building a healthcare system that serves everyone equitably and effectively, ensuring that no one is left behind.

While the event highlighted significant advancements in the healthcare sector, surpassing those achieved during the ARMM era, Minister Sinolinding pledged continuous support to further elevate programs and policies.

The Ministry of Health will fully utilize its resources to bolster primary healthcare, modernize hospitals, and champion community-based care, all in pursuit of BARMM’s vision for a healthier and more prosperous future for its constituents.
