In celebration of World Orphans Day 2024, the Ministry of Health through its Special Population Program had launched a health outreach activities for orphaned children.

The two-day program commenced on November 11 in Shariff Aguak, Maganoy, and continued on November 12 in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao.

The ministry provided health kits and essential healthcare services to children in various orphanages.

The orphans expressed happiness and gratitude for the support received, with caregivers acknowledging the MOH’s commitment to their welfare, emphasizing the impact of the ministry’s attention on their lives.

The program was designed to fulfill key objectives, including delivering necessary healthcare and hygiene products, fostering health education and hygiene practices, and promoting community awareness and support for orphans.

The Special Population Program Team was joined by the Health Education Promotion Unit (HEPU), who actively participated in promoting awareness on health and hygiene, aligning with BARMM’s mission to provide equitable health access to all, especially vulnerable groups.

This outreach program was lead by the Chief of the Population Division, Datu Abdulshattar E. Zailon II, RN, MPH, along with Ms. Sherashade D. Harrid, RN, Regional Program Coordinator.

The ministry’s initiative was further strengthened by the unwavering support of Minister, Dr. Kadil M. Sinolinding Jr. Alhamdulillah, this compassionate effort reflects the spirit of Islamic principles and the blessings of Allah. “May Allah accept our ibadah, make our intentions sincere, and purify our souls,” shared the program organizers, highlighting the event as not just a professional duty, but a deeply fulfilling act of worship.
