MOH Distributes Hygiene, Dental Kits to MILF Decommissioned Combatants
The Ministry of Health distributed 300 hygiene kits and 222 dental kits to six different MILF camps during a convergent community program dubbed “Engaging BARMM for community services in the Camps”, on September 15-26, 2024.
The said activity is a proactive move of the ministry to provide medical assistance for camps transformation through inclusion, violence prevention, and Economic empowerment.
The event was spearheaded by the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) in collaboration with various ministries of the Bangsamoro Government. Key partners included the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Project Tabang from the Office of the Chief Minister, and other stakeholders in the region.
In addition to the distribution of hygiene and dental kits, the MOH conducted health promotion campaigns aimed at enhancing health literacy among community members. This effort is particularly timely given the recent rise in dengue and MPOX cases in the country.
The ministry aspires to implement more community-based programs to further improve the health of the MILF/MNLF combants and their families, as well as the entire Bangsamoro, and ensure that every constituent has access to quality and reliable healthcare services.
