Cotabato City, November 20, 2024 – Bangsamoro Health Minister Dr. Kadil M. Sinolinding, Jr., welcomed Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Project Formulation Advisor for the Mindanao Section, Mr. Hori Kohei, in a courtesy visit held at the Health Minister’s Office in the Bangsamoro Government Center.

The meeting focused on JICA’s ongoing support and its proposed project for strengthening maternal and child health and nutrition services in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). Mr. Kohei also presented initiatives aimed at institutional development to bolster health services in the region.

“JICA is happy working closer to the Bangsamoro people on the ground,” stated Mr. Kohei, emphasizing JICA’s commitment to improving the region’s health systems.

Dr. Sinolinding expressed his gratitude for JICA’s unwavering support and collaboration, stating, “We need to learn and work to improve. This is for our people in the Bangsamoro.” He reaffirmed the Ministry of Health’s commitment to working closely with JICA for the betterment of health services in BARMM.

The collaboration underscores a shared vision of ensuring quality healthcare for all, particularly focusing on maternal and child health in the region.
